Education and Qualifications

1982 to 1985 : Degree in Art Education, with qualification in Fine Arts at “FATEA: Faculdades Integradas Teresa D'Avila”  –  Lorena,  Sao Paulo.

1985: Post-Graduate course at FATEA: “ Art Education in Primary and High School “ promoted by “ Escolinha de Arte do Brasil “, Rio de Janeiro.

1985: Post-Graduate Extension Course “Infant Psychosis” and “Art Therapy”  Prof. Dr. Pedro Antonio de Souza (Rio de Janeiro) – 50 hs.

1986: Participates in “ 1st Art Education Meeting”, promoted by AESP: “Association of Art Education of Sao Paulo” and “Escolinha de Arte do Brasil” - 25 hrs.

1986/1987: “Escola de Comunicações e Artes /Universidade de São Paulo”.   Postgraduate. Subjects:“Semiotics: Poetry and Painting”, “Drawing by Observation”, “The Poetry of Non-verbal Messages”,  “On Speculative Illusion and Narcissus Myth”, “ Intersemiotics Translation as a Creative Process”.

1988/1989: “Escola de Comunicações e Artes / Universidade de São Paulo”  - Engraving and printmaking studio,  under the supervision of the artist Prof. Dr. Evandro Carlos Jardim.

Working Experience

1987 and 1988:  Studio of artist Carlos Fajardo, São Paulo. “The Question of Contemporaneity in Visual Language”.  Training and working with several other artists and exploring the issue of appreciation and evaluation of artwork.

1990/1991 – MAC - “Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Universidade de São Paulo. Participates in the experimental Atelier of Etching “Francesc Domingo Segura”, organized and directed by Prof. Dr. Evandro Carlos Jardim.

1990 to 1992:  Joining Regina Maurício da Rocha's atelier. Etchings and exploring printmaking processes. Realized some work in a collective workshop under the supervision of Alex Cerverny.

1991/1992 – “ Participate in the studio of Museu Lazar Segall ” - São Paulo.

1986 to 1990: Lecturer at the University “Faculdades Integradas Teresa D'Avila'' – Lorena, São Paulo. Subjects:   “Basics of Visual Language” ,  “Studio: Analysis and Use of  Techniques and Materials through Different Media” and  “Communication and Visual Expression”

1987/1988: Supervisor of a collective studio and exhibitions at “Museu Histórico do Vale do Paraíba”, Fazenda Boa Vista, Vale do Paraíba, São Paulo.

1990 to 1992: Supervised extra-curricular  art workshops in several primary and secondary private schools and colleges in São Paulo.

1995 to 1998: Established a studio in Arraial D'Ajuda/Bahia - Brazil, where the artist lived for 5 years, working with painting, etching, installations, teaching and running courses to private groups.

1996 and 1997: Formed own company producing handmade stationery, working with ‘assemblage' and bindings.

1999:  Volunteer at Gladstone Working Pottery Museum, Longton, England.

2001: Employed by Stoke City Council at Gladstone Pottery Museum as a part time demonstrator of pottery skills. 

2002: Part time museum assistant at Etruria Industrial Museum, Stoke-on-Trent, England.

2002 to 2004: Started working as a studio potter. Opened studio at Mucklestone, Market Drayton/ Shropshire.

2005 to 2009: Studio at Knighton, Market Drayton, Shropshire. Working with ceramics, printmaking and painting.
